WARRINGTON has been named one of the best places in the country to find a job.
Job site search engine Adzuna put the borough fifth in the list published last week.
Competition per job vacancy was rated at 0.14 in the area.
Council leader Terry O'Neill said: "Yet again Warrington is topping the charts in the north.
"We have consistently punched above our weight in terms of growth and investment and this is another example of how the borough is continuing to buck the economic trend despite the level of cuts from central government.”
A spokesman for Adzuna said: "Warrington’s presence in this esteemed company may not be short-lived either, with Amazon to create 1,200 new permanent jobs in the Cheshire town."
Warrington becomes the first northern town to appear in the top five of the list.
