We’re inviting the brightest SMEs and entrepreneurs from around the world to enter our seventh annual UK Energy Innovation Awards which showcase the latest and greatest technologies shaking up the industry.

The 2016 awards, supported by the UK’s energy distribution networks and the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult, are now officially open for entries. 

The deadline for submissions is Friday 11th December 2015 and the shortlist will be announced in February 2016.

The categories include:

• Best Electricity Network Improvement
• Best Gas Network Improvement
• Best Innovation Implemented or Adopted by a Utility Contractor
• Best Innovation Contributing to Quality & Reliability of Gas or Electricity Supply
• Best International Trade
• Best Offshore Renewable Innovation
• Best Safety Innovation
• Environmental Impact
• Best Smart Grid Innovation
• Best University Technology

The first step is to complete the online nomination form. Please note that nominations are also accepted from third parties working in the sector. 

All entries will be judged by a panel of industry experts, including chief executive officer of Northern Gas Networks and EIC chairman, Mark Horsley, and the winners will be announced at a black-tie dinner in Manchester on Thursday, 28th April 2016.
