Date: Sunday 29th October
Do you have a big idea worth spreading? A life-changing idea or story? Have you always wanted to be a TEDx speaker?
This is your opportunity!
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for people who have a big idea or a story to tell that’s linked to our event theme ‘Life Long Learning.’ It can be expressed through speech, dance or any variety of performance. The key will be to deliver your message in an engaging, powerful way so that it inspires and educates, challenges thinking and sparks deep discussion.
Individuals don’t have to be a professional speaker or performer. In fact, we encourage everyone to apply. To reflect the ‘life long’ nature of our event theme, we are looking for a wide age range of speakers and performers… anyone from 9 to 99 years old! Ideally we’ll find a speaker or performer to represent each decade.
There will be a variation of talk lengths, but the key will be to keep talks impactful, engaging and fresh for the audience, so anything between 5 to 10 minutes. There will be support from a speaker coach who will work with you to ensure you are prepared for the big day.
Apply now – see link below – or nominate someone who you think would light up our iconic red circle.
Nb. applicants do not have to be residents of Nantwich – we accept applications from everywhere within UK, but do have to be able to attend rehearsals in Nantwich
How to apply:
Simply complete and submit the form by the deadline of Tuesday 11 July 2017. There will be the option to submit your application in video format rather than written (maximum length 2 minutes), but please ensure the questions on the form are still answered.
Either way, your submission will be reviewed by our Selection Committee, and we’ll be contacting those selected for an audition by Tuesday 18 July 2017. All successful applicants should be available to attend auditions in Nantwich (Cheshire) or be available for a video Skype on Tues 25 July 2017 (time TBC).
