The operator behind the Chester Grosvenor Hotel has reported revenues of £8.5m for the year when it took over the running of the historic five-star establishment.
Bespoke Hotels Chester Ltd, part of Bespoke Hotels Ltd, was granted a 99-year lease from Grosvenor Estates, owner of the property's freehold, starting on 13 April 2015.
In accounts for the period between 6 February 2015 to 31 March 2016 the business made a pre-tax profit of £458,397 on revenue of £8.5m.
Although this was the ?rst year of trading and as such there is no direct comparable, the directors of Bespoke Hotels Chester said the accounts demonstrated a successful start following a smooth handover.
This was especially as the new management arrangement was said to have created an unsettling time for the business and employees given the previous longstanding association with Grosvenor Estates.
Bespoke said it had focused on maintaining standards and providing "exceptional customer service" at the 150-year-old hotel, which is located next to the famous Eastgate clock tower on Eastgate Street.
