The business said revenue for the year to 31 March 2015 would be about £221m, up from £218.7m a year ago. Sales in the UK increased by 0.7 per cent, benefitting from new housebuilding activity.

In South Africa, Wilmslow-headquartered Norcros enjoyed a 15 per cent hike in annual sales on a constant currency basis helped by the stabilising South African Rand.

The company added closing net debt is expected to be below market expectations at £15m, down from £26.9m in 2014. This includes the £6.5m proceeds from the recent sale of surplus freehold properties.

The listed company's full year results will be announced in June.
