Macclesfield-based Direct Food Ingredients is celebrating its US office reaching nearly $1m (£720,000) in sales in its first year of trading.
Launched in February 2015, the company opened a Los Angeles based office and 75,000 sq ft warehousing and distribution facility.
Steve Loake, founder and managing director of Direct Food Ingredients, said: "Our entry into the US market has been focussed on our two core areas of sports nutrition and nutraceuticals, and to be turning over just under $1m at the end of our first year is very encouraging indeed.
"The Direct Food Ingredients brand has been built upon employing the highest quality standards in everything we do, and we have benefitted from the fact that many areas of the US market are driven by low quality imports from China.
"Our stringent quality assured offer has seen considerable demand. In a matter of months we brought on board 12 US-based large manufacturer clients."
Direct Food Ingredients said overall the business generated sales of £13.7m in 2015, up 52 per cent on the previous year.
