Skills For the Future Programme Re-opens for Applications (UK)

Date added: 04/07/2016

The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) has announced that its "Skills for the Future" programme has re-opened for applications.

Skills for the Future funds work-based training in a wide range of skills that are needed to look after buildings, landscapes, habitats, species, and museum and archive collections, as well as equipping people to lead education and outreach programmes, manage volunteers and use new technology.

The HLF give grants to not for profit organisations and partnerships led by not for profit organisations that can demonstrate a skills shortage and are able to plan and develop a new training programme and to recruit, train and pay trainees new to the sector. Applicants can apply for a grant from £100,000 to £750,000. Skills for the Future applications go through a two-round process.

There is a two round application process and applicants must submit their first-round application by 12 noon on the 13th October 2016. Applicants successful at this stage will then need to submit a detailed training plan. HLF must receive this by no later than 12 noon on the 7th September 2017.
