ScottishPower looks set to get the green light to establish a new 15,000 sq ft depot on the outskirts of Middlewich.
Planners believe the development would bring economic benefits through the delivery of 67 full-time jobs and have recommended its approval.
Next Wednesday (5 August 2015) Cheshire East Council's southern planning committee is due to consider an application by Pochin Property to create an office, warehouse and yard facility for ScottishPower on plot 74 off Erf Way to the east of Middlewich town centre.
The 2.1-acre triangular site has been earmarked for a 13,391 sq ft unit with associated parking, access and service areas, giving a gross external area for the development of 15,468 sq ft.
The development would function as an operational depot with extensive yard space for ScottishPower vehicles. There would be room for 67 cars, 20 vans and ten heavy goods vehicles.
Ahead of the meeting, a report prepared by the planning officer has recommended that the scheme should be given the go-ahead by members.
It said: "This proposal would bring economic benefits through the delivery of 67-full time jobs within an established industrial park where the local plan allocates such uses.
"The proposal is compatible with the surrounding development and the design, scale and form of the building would sit comfortably with those within the locality."
