Sci-Tech Daresbury has revealed the names of seven new strategic partners.

The companies pairing up with the the national science and innovation campus are advisory firm Dow Schofield Watts, professional services company Grant Thornton, tech giant IBM, intellectual property service provider Marks & Clerk, technology transfer business RTC North, the University of Liverpool and law firm Slater Heelis.

Sci-Tech Daresbury has chosen the gold partners to drive its continuous development and support the increasing number of high-tech businesses moving into its facilities each month.

The site expanded in the last year with the completion of its Techspace Two scheme and the imminent completion of Techspace One, its larger sister building.

Sci-Tech Daresbury represents a private-public joint-venture partnership between the Science and Technology Facilities Council, developer Langtree and Halton Borough Council.

Chairman of the Sci-Tech Daresbury joint venture company, Langtree MD John Downes, said: "We’re delighted to have chosen seven fantastic partners who will help Sci-Tech Daresbury continue to develop and prosper in the coming year.

"The gold partners are a select group of partner companies which offer high-level strategic support for Sci-Tech Daresbury companies in areas such as intellectual property, financial and tax management, corporate finance and funding, IT solutions, legal services, technology commercialisation, and scientific research.”

He added: "We have experienced a very successful year with many new high tech businesses joining our site and the continuous development of the campus.”

Data revealed in July showed that businesses based at Sci-Tech Daresbury achieved £90m in sales and created 87 new jobs in 2015.

Further, the value of collaborative efforts between companies on the campus now stands at £21.5m.

John continued: "The Sci-Tech Daresbury site provides a UK front door for many businesses and we’re looking forward to continuing that invaluable provision with the support and expertise of our gold partners.”
