Roberts Bakery to support Royal Cheshire County Show

Date added: 22/04/2016

A Cheshire business will be supporting the Royal Cheshire County Show this year for the 11th year running.

Roberts Bakery has renewed its principal partnership deal of the popular annual event and will sponsor Roberts Bakery food halls, described as a ‘food lover’s paradise’ for those visiting the show.

The event, on June 21 and 22, is the first Cheshire County Show in more than 175 years to receive the highly prestigious Royal status.

For the duration of the two-day event the food halls will accommodate more than 90 producers and purveyors, each showcasing their fine foods to many of its 80,000 visitors, traders and exhibitors.

A live theatre programme will also take centre stage showcasing the culinary skills of local chefs, students and local companies using local produce.

Show patron Karol Roberts will also be running the Roberts Bakery baking education stand.

Joining the Roberts Bakery line up will be The Little Treats Co – also part of the Frank Roberts and Sons Ltd group – who will be showcasing a delicious range of sweet treats.

Deputy chairman of Roberts Bakery Mike Roberts said: "We’re a local family run business with an almost 130 year heritage across the North West and Midlands, and we’re committed to many community engagements, environmental and educational programmes throughout.

"Cheshire is very much our heartland and we are delighted to take such a prominent role, especially one associated with quality food, at such a popular County event.

"Add to this Karol’s role of patroness at last year’s show, not to mention our position as the UK’s fastest growing major bread brand*, and it goes without saying that we’re very much looking forward to June 21 and 22.”

Royal Cheshire County Show executive director Nigel Evans said: "We are proud to have Roberts Bakery as one of our longstanding Principal Partners.

"Their support of the Food Halls and Food Live Theatre has enabled us to invest in this ever-popular feature, bringing even more variety of producers and purveyors of fine foods to the attention and delight of the many thousands of visitors that attend the show.”
