The planning consultancy team at JLL in Manchester has lodged a planning application with Cheshire East Council on behalf of Liberty Properties for a site on Manor Business Park in Holmes Chapel. The scheme would be anchored by discount retailer Aldi, which would occupy a 19,418 sq ft unit.

Meanwhile, JLL has also submitted a planning application to Denbighshire County Council for a separate development anchored by Aldi, which would take a 19,364 sq ft unit, in Denbigh.

Emyr Williams, development director at Liberty Properties, said: "The developments will drive inward investment and job opportunities in Denbigh and Holmes Chapel. In addition, with the end result offering greater shopping convenience to the towns, we've already received a positive response to the proposals from the communities."

Joanna Gabrilatsou, planning and development director at JLL in Manchester, said: "These schemes will help regenerate previously underused sites in both of these areas and vastly improve the towns' retail choices – something which both of these communities have called out for."

The planning team at JLL advised on both schemes.

The architect for the Holmes Chapel scheme is the Harris Partnership, while the architect for the Denbigh scheme is Leach Rose Walker. Wild Commercial Property and Mason Partners are Liberty Properties' agents.

If approved, construction on both sites would begin in early 2016.
