Property and construction firm Pochin’s Ltd is giving its education portfolio a boost after securing multi-million pound contracts with Reaseheath College.
The Middlewich-based company is due to deliver two new projects for the agricultural college at its site in Nantwich, Cheshire.
Totalling £6.5m, the work will include a 20,000 sq ft Agri-Tech Centre comprising a single-storey workshop block and neighbouring two-storey teaching block.
The teaching block will house classrooms, a showroom/workshop, a specialist Plant Room and offices.
Alongside the Agri-Tech Centre, Pochin’s will create a 16,000 sq ft multi-purpose sports hall building.
The property will have space for up to five sports courts and trampoline activities, as well as specialist sports science facilities and changing rooms for Reaseheath College’s new 3G pitch.
Pochin’s chief exec Jim Nicholson said: "Having worked on a number of projects at Reaseheath College over the years, we have seen firsthand the development of the Cheshire site into a world class education institution.
"We are extremely proud of the trusted relationship we have developed with the college and look forward to delivering these latest additions to the growing campus.”
Reaseheath College’s head of property, Ben Hunt, commented: "We’ve built a reputation for state-of-the-art facilities that enable the very best education and technical provision for our students.
"We are confident Pochin’s has the knowledge and experience to ensure a high quality delivery and are excited to see the designs come to fruition.”
The projects are part-funded through the Growth Deal Programme by the Cheshire & Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership.
With work getting underway this month, Pochin’s expects to complete the schemes in May 2018.
