A detailed planning application for a major industrial scheme at Ellesmere Port has been submitted.
Redsun Developments is behind the AVIATOR project – earmarked for Hooton Park – which is designed by Fletcher-Rae and proposes 450,000 sq ft of industrial space.
Hooton Park is already home to a number of occupiers including DHL/Jaguar Land Rover, Plastic Omnium, Less Common Metals and the Vauxhall Motors assembly plant. The site is included in the Cheshire Science Corridor and benefits from Enterprise Zone status.
Nick Wightman, director of Redsun Developments, said: "Our agents haven't properly begun to market the site yet but we are really encouraged by the interest already being shown from businesses looking for new space. It seems that the enhanced capital allowances that come with the site's Enterprise Zone status have certainly caught the eye of some occupiers.
"Details have been submitted for two units totalling 450,000 sq ft but we have a streamlined planning process as part of the local development order, which means we can move quickly to adapt the proposals to suit specific occupier requirements.
"We always intended to move quickly with this development so it's really encouraging that we've been able to submit planning less than three months after acquiring the site. We will be flexible in our approach and are willing to offer completed buildings on either freehold or leasehold terms, which I think will set AVIATOR apart from other schemes in the pipeline."
Knight Frank and Legat Owen have been instructed as agents for the development.
