Pet food maker sells majority stake for £50m

The Cheshire company which makes pet food brands Applaws and Encore has sold a majority stake to private equity firm ECI for around £50m. MPM Products, based in Macclesfield, is expected to have a turnover of £50m this year. It has been growing revenues by around 25% a year over the last few years as pet owners seek better-quality natural food for their dogs and cats.
