The business is looking to work with companies that can build and refurbish warehouses at its sites in Liverpool, Runcorn and Heysham, with £50m of opportunities in the region up for grabs.
The tender is part of a £100m programme also including Peel Ports’ holdings in Scotland and the South East. Peel said that applications are invited from companies looking to win a place on a four-year framework to supply new build warehouses, and to extend or refurbish existing warehouse stock.
Awards under the framework will come in the form of a number of projects during the framework period, of varying values, capacities, uses and anticipated lifecycles, Peel said. The framework will last for four years.
Requests to participate are invited until 15 February.
Peel Ports opened the £400m Liverpool 2 container port in late 2016. In November, the business confirmed that it is pressing ahead with the second phase of work at the project, installing additional cranes and adding to the port’s capacity to handle greater quantities of refrigerated materials.
