Specialist agricultural and distribution business NWF Group has purchased a feed manufacturer which supplies more than 50,000 tonnes to dairy, beef and sheep farmers across the North of England and South West Scotland.
The acquired business, Jim Peet (Agriculture), started trading in 1977 and produces a range of compounds and blends from two production sites based at Longtown near Carlisle and Aspatria near Wigton.
Nantwich-based NWF said it would supply customers in the North of England and Scotland and complements NWF’s existing facilities in the Midlands and South West.
Richard Whiting, chief executive of NWF, added: "The acquisition of Jim Peet further improves our UK Feeds market share and provides a strategic manufacturing site in the North to support our development plans in Scotland and the North of England.
"This bolt-on acquisition is in line with our stated growth strategy to expand within agriculture and we look forward to working with its management team to develop the business further."
NWF was advised by Rupert Gill and Richard Roberts of Brabners, Dow Schofield Watts and RSM while the sellers were advised by Michael Walby and Robbie Mather of Burnetts and Lamont Pridmore.
Rupert Gill said "We were delighted to assist NWF on this latest of a series of acquisitions in the agriculture sector that they have undertaken recently”
