New board members for Cheshire LEP

Clare Hayward, partner at Macclesfield-based business consultancy Cirrus, and Robert Mee, chairman of the Ellesmere Port regeneration board, have joined the board of the Cheshire & Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership.

Hayward and Mee take up their posts, which are unpaid, with immediate effect.

The Cheshire & Warrington LEP is made up of representatives from local authorities and the business community. The board is responsible for putting together economic plans for the area and acting as ambassadors and advocates for the area with the Government and the private sector nationally and internationally.

The LEP overseas a budget of around £300m, including projects such as the Northgate development in Chester and the Congleton bypass.

Christine Gaskell, chairman of the LEP, said: "I’m very pleased to welcome Clare and Robert to the Board. They came through a really strong field and bring not only a wealth of private sector experience, but also a real commitment to Cheshire and Warrington through their roles in developing the local economies in Macclesfield and Ellesmere Port.”
