Plans have been submitted for a major job-creating office development on a Chester business park which is already home to some of the city's biggest employers.
Acting on behalf of Chester Parkside, How Planning has lodged an application seeking outline permission from Cheshire West and Chester Council for a 111,400 sq ft office and 280 parking spaces on the last available land within Chester Business Park.
A 175-acre landscaped environment, located in the green belt and one mile south of the city centre, Chester Business Park is currently home to Bank of America, Marks & Spencer Money, Royal Bank of Scotland, GBG, Widex and Regus serviced offices.
The proposal seeks to combine three sites, Parkside One, Parkside Three and Wrexham Road Farm, into a single 9.4-acre plot.
Designs prepared by Paddock Johnson Partnership currently envisage a three-storey building with large open-plan floor plates, although the visual identity will be fleshed out once outline approval is secured.
A major feature and focus of the scheme will be a central atrium which aims to fill the building with natural light.
According to the proposal, the office space could support up to 800 jobs alongside construction roles.
