International delegations open up global trade opportunity

Date added: 19/01/2016

More than 100 trade delegations from across the globe are expected to attend the International Festival for Business 2016 this summer.

Around 40 per cent of the 30,000-plus delegates will travel to the festival from overseas, specifically to do deals with UK SMEs.

Companies which took part in IFB2014 have secured £280m in export sales and investment and hundreds of millions of pounds in domestic sales.

Organisers expect an even better festival this year, with more than 70 themed events and the world’s biggest ‘meet the buyer’ event during IFB2016, which runs from 13 June to 1 July at Exhibition Centre Liverpool.

IFB2016 is a gateway for UK businesses to connect with key markets, including Europe, South East Asia, USA, India, China, Latin America and the Middle East.

Businesses can attend the festival by joining the IFB Business Club. This will enable them to benefit from the IFB2016’s bespoke Business Matching service, which connects companies with contacts looking to do deals in specific areas.

The festival is supported by the UK government, main partner HSBC, media partners The Times, Sunday Times and Bloomberg as well as festival supporters Arup, DLA Piper, DONG Energy, Heathrow, PwC, Siemens and Virgin Trains.
