Proposals to create an office building capable of accommodating 500 employees for one of the North West's biggest companies on Crewe Business Park are on the verge of securing the go-ahead.
A full planning application by Pochin's Developments to construct a new base (pictured) for fuel card management company Radius Payment Solutions is set to be considered by Cheshire East Council's planning committee next Wednesday (1 March 2017). The proposal involves developing a four-storey, L-shaped building on vacant land next to Electra Way on Crewe Business Park, which would provide 66,047 sq ft of office space, and 182 parking spaces.
Radius has been based at two offices on Herald Drive in Crewe for ten years and these sites collectively house 568 employees. The new office would have a maximum capacity of 500 employees, although the initial plan is for the company to only transfer 400 staff across from its existing offices in Crewe.
Herald Drive would then be repositioned as the group's global head office, with the proposed development providing improved staff facilities, including a gym, a café and changing facilities.
Radius currently has 21 offices globally, employs approximately 950 staff worldwide and boasts a £1.9bn turnover. The company expects that it will continue to grow its Crewe presence to a point where it will have 600 to 650 employees across the Herald Drive and Admiral Court sites by 2020.
