Businesses and entrepreneurs across the North West now have more time to enter an accelerator programme aimed at supporting innovative energy products or services that will make a difference to society.
The application deadline for the Ignite ‘Big Energy Idea’ Accelerator Programme, which could provide the region’s energy sector innovators with funding and support, has been extended from January 31 to this Sunday (February 5).
Those successful will get a package of pre-investment support, including knowledge from industry experts, and be given the opportunity to apply for investment.
Successful applicants will be required to pitch to a panel of industry and social enterprise experts later this month.
Ignite’s investment principal, Sam Salisbury, is confident the North West is "filled with innovative businesses and entrepreneurs”.
He said: "We are hoping that twenty local businesses enter the Big Energy Idea to make the most of the support and potential investment available."
Ignite, which is backed by British multinational utility firm Centrica, is considered the UK’s first impact investment fund focused on energy.
Since its launch three years ago, the programme has supported over 25 UK enterprises and committed to £8m in investment.
