The joint venture partnership between DB Symmetry and Cheshire contractor and developer Pochin’s has submitted a planning application for a distribution facility at its 450-acre Cheshire logistics park MA6NITUDE, formerly known as Midpoint 18.
Occupiers already located at the site include B&M Bargains, Kuehne + Nagel, and Wincanton. The warehouse is to be the first building started since the JV was agreed between DB Symmetry and Pochin’s in October 2016.
The build, expected to be completed this autumn, forms part of the first of three phases that will see MA6NITUDE built out in full, a project expected to deliver a further nine industrial and distribution facilities across 1,750,000 sq ft.
Andrew Dickman, director of DBS Pochin, said: "We view MA6NITUDE as the established location for industrial and distribution businesses looking to access and operate within the Northern Powerhouse, with key centres of trade such as Manchester Airport and the Atlantic Gateway less than an hour’s drive away. We’ve already seen a great deal of positive interest in the new partnership.”
This phase of development also includes proposals for a 206,000 sq ft warehouse, while work is nearing completion for a 92,000 sq ft facility to be occupied by Scottish Power.
Bob Nicholson, DBS Pochin director, added: "We have an ambitious long-term plan for MA6NITUDE, and our strategy will attract leading businesses from, and to, the North West. This proposal is the first step in that journey and, with major investments in the A556 and M6 smart motorway nearing completion, we’re excited about the road ahead.”
