CREWE’S new £10.6m Engineering & Design UTC is fast taking shape and plans have now been released showing the interior design of this multi-million-pound campus.
Construction progress at the site of the former Victoria High School and Oakley Leisure Centre on West Street, has so far comprised extensive refurbishment of the Oakley building. This is the part of the development which opens for the first cohort in September 2016. Demolition of the other existing buildings will begin in June and create space for a new building.
Crewe Engineering & Design UTC will specialise in engineering, design and manufacturing and is supported by employer partners including Bentley Motors, OSL, Air Products, Network Rail, GE, Siemens, Bosch, Leoni, James Walker, Chevron, Racing and 3D Optical.
The new school, designed for 14-18-year-olds, will offer students the opportunity of work experience with national and local brands, whilst gaining GCSEs, A-levels and Technical Award qualifications.
