A KNUTSFORD cosmetics company which is currently leading supplier to retail giant Primark is hoping to bring manufacturing jobs to Cheshire with a new factory.
Amelia Knight, based in Mobberley Road, currently employs 45 staff and supplies to a number of leading retail names through manufacturing in a Chinese factory.
The family business, with seven of the Salmon clan at its helm, has garnered the support of George Osborne MP and Cheshire East Council leader Cllr Rachel Bailey in its quest to set up in the north west.
Mark Salmon, technical director, said: "With the Northern Powerhouse, and bringing manufacturing jobs back to Britain, we want to be part of that growth in the north west. These things are priorities for us and there is an affinity there.
"Being in Cheshire would allow us to focus further on quality and have greater speeds to market.
"We have big accounts all over the world, we are doing well and are a big player in the cosmetics industry. It’s our design and innovation that sets us apart.
"We have recently expanded and we love the location and love Knutsford.”
The company started up in a converted van in Whitegate 18 years ago, moving to Knutsford in 2013, and has secured accounts across the global market.
