Proposals for a major expansion of Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet, which are expected to create more than 300 jobs, look set to secure the green light despite objections from the £300m Northgate scheme that they could have a significant adverse impact on Chester city centre.
A full planning application to modernise and upgrade the Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet is set to go before councillors at Cheshire West and Chester Council's planning meeting on Tuesday, 7 February 2017.
The shopping complex currently offers 363,822 sq ft of floor space but the proposals (pictured) envisage adding an extra 39,826 sq ft of retail and restaurant/café floor space. These plans include adding several new retail units and kiosks, a pedestrian square, a play area in front of the external seating area of McDonald's, public toilets, further parking spaces, a pedestrian/cycle bridge connecting the residents of Stanney Grange and Wolverham, and reconfigured management facilities.
