Chester Community Energy Ltd. is a registered cooperative (a Community Benefit Society) which aims to develop and facilitate renewable energy schemes in Chester and the surrounding area.
We want to promote renewable energy, reduce the City’s carbon footprint and encourage energy efficiency. We continually seek to raise funds to carry out our work via grants, crowd funding and public share offers. We have successfully secured a grant from DECC’s Urban Community Fund to help us explore the feasibility of our first scheme.
We are not-for-profit and all of our Directors are volunteers. Any surplus funds we generate in the future by owning and operating renewable energy installations, will be re-invested back into community and environmental projects. Our first installation will give us the skills and resources to deliver many more similar projects with lower overheads and without being dependent on grant funding.
We are registered as a Community Benefit Society (no. 7272) with the Financial Conduct Authority under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014.
Our first SHARE OFFER is now open. We are pleased to say that within only two weeks we have reached £25,000 of our £61,000 target! In order to help us to get our first project installed by the end of September, so that we may secure a higher feed-in-tariff and return a greater annual interest to our members on their shares, please share widely with friends, family and your community.
