A home care business headquartered in Warrington is creating thousands of UK jobs.
Franchise firm Home Instead Senior Care will recruit 10,000 care workers across its network of 195 offices by 2020 to meet its growth plans.
The company currently has a turnover of £108m and provides more than six million hours of care annually through a 9,000-strong team of caregivers.
With a mission to become the sector’s employer of choice, Home Instead will launch two employee initiatives for 2018 – a training programme in end of life care, accredited by City & Guilds and developed with Cheshire charity End of Life Partnership; and an employee assistance line offering telephone access to trained counsellors who can help family worries, financial problems and other concerns.
Home Instead Senior Care MD Martin Jones said: "Recruiting and retaining a high quality workforce is a major challenge for any business in the adult social care sector.
"For us, the solution is to put our money where our mouth is and to demonstrate that we are seriously committed to the professional development and wellbeing of our people.”
He added: "These two new initiatives are the latest in an ongoing campaign to position Home Instead Senior Care as the employer of choice in the sector.”
