The Cheshire and Warrington area has unveiled plans to make its debut at MIPIM, the world's largest property conference, in 2017.
For the first time, Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) will showcase the sub-region at the annual showpiece in the French city of Cannes. The 2017 conference, which runs from 14-17 March, is expected to welcome more than 21,000 delegates including representatives of major property professionals, developers, councils, regions and governments.
The LEP said that MIPIM is a significant platform to launch and promote investment opportunities on a scale not possible anywhere else. It added that this "exciting and significant" move demonstrates the confidence in the strength of Cheshire and Warrington's growth potential and offers a chance to position the local economy alongside other major players in the North.
The Cheshire and Warrington area currently features a number of significant investment propositions including the launch of the Cheshire Science Corridor(pictured), the Northern Gateway Development Zone and a variety of projects within Chester, Ellesmere Port, Knutsford, Macclesfield and Warrington.
The LEP is currently formulating the partnership model for this initiative and is looking to enlist partners that can help to make it a success. Partners are typically drawn from a number of areas, including developers and landowners that have a particular proposition to market, intermediaries and property professionals, professional services firms with expertise in property, research and consultancy practises, housing groups, and financial services providers.
Headline packages are available that allow partners to promote their business and get involved in many events, although it is also possible to create specific events and collateral for partners that want to highlight particular projects or services.
Katrina Michel, chief executive of Marketing Cheshire, told Insider: "Cheshire offers unparalleled quality of place so we are keen to encourage the widest possible partnership of people with schemes to promote or simply those who wish to support the area and raise awareness of all the fantastic opportunities we have."
The LEP's announcement comes on the back of Chester making its MIPIM debut earlier this year. Chester Growth Partnership sent a delegation that included representatives from Redrow, DTM Legal, Glenbrook and Influential to MIPIM 2016.
