BIS Open Consultation - views invited on apprenticeships levy

Date added: 17/09/2015

The Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) are inviting comments on their proposal to introduce an apprenticeship levy. The levy will enable employers to choose and pay for apprenticeship training.

They would like employer views on the following in particular:

  • how to pay the levy
  • how the levy should work for employers who operate across the whole of the UK
  • how to make sure that employers paying the levy have the opportunity to get more out than they put in
  • how best to give employers control of apprenticeships

This consultation covers the implementation of the levy. More detail on the levy rate and scope will be provided later in the year. Deadline for responses is 2 October 2015
