Date added: 06/03/2017

Barclays is preparing to launch a recruitment drive in Northwich, Cheshire.

The company plans to create 100 new positions in the client servicing team at its Gadbrook Park base.

The team is responsible for helping business and corporate clients unlock growth through a "seamless” banking experience, Barclays said.

The bank currently employs several large workforces across the North, including at its technology centre in Knutsford, Skybranch contact centres in Liverpool and Sunderland and a national mortgage centre in Leeds.

Neil Johnson, Barclays’ site president at Gadbrook Park, said: "The new opportunities at Gadbrook Park are available for both existing colleagues and those looking to start their career with Barclays.

"We are hugely excited to be able to offer a whole range of career opportunities from management to customer facing positions."

He added: "Applicants do not need to have previous contact centre or financial services experience just a passion for creating outstanding customer outcomes and the right values for Barclays as a business."

Commenting on the recruitment drive, Tatton MP George Osborne said: "I was delighted to hear that Barclays are creating 100 new jobs at its Gadbrook Park site.

"I have visited Barclays’ local offices on a number of occasions and was impressed by the staff’s dedication to customer service. Cheshire is a great place to do business and I’m pleased that companies large and small share my view."

Speaking further, site president Neil commented: "We don’t just employ a large number of people in the UK, we also invest in them, improving their skills and future prospects. That’s why each year we provide colleagues with more than two million hours of training.

"We’re more than a provider of financial services. We’re committed to creating a rewarding place to work where our people feel valued and empowered to make a real impact in their communities."
