Plans to create 164,000 sq ft of industrial space across five new-build units in Crewe are on the verge of securing the green light.
A full planning application by Beeson to transform a 9.3-acre area of scrubland off University Way is scheduled to go before Cheshire East Council's strategic planning board on Wednesday, 28 June 2017. It is proposed to create five large steel-framed units, each with parking, service yards and fencing.
The proposed units would differ in size, with the largest spanning 45,553 sq ft. The applicant has submitted a justification note from Legat Owen in support of the project, which expresses confidence that all of the premises will be pre-let or pre-sold.
A planning officer's report ahead of the board meeting said that the development would bring positive planning benefits such as the creation of new employment opportunities on a site allocated for employment use, with knock-on economic benefits during construction and through the supply chain.
The application has been recommended for approval by councillors.
