Amazon moves in at Omega

Date added: 23/03/2017

Investor LondonMetric has confirmed that the e-commerce giant has taken occupation of its 357,000 sq ft unit in zone 7 of Warrington’s Omega South, a deal announced with conditions attached in December.

Following the satisfaction of conditions relating to the deal, Amazon has agreed a 15-year lease with rent reviews linked to the consumer price index.

Andrew Jones, chief executive of LondonMetric, said: "Omega South has been a highly successful development, completed within eight months of construction commencing and let within five weeks of completion.”

LondonMetric funded the £30m scheme following its £47.5m backing of the Hut Group’s 690,000 sq ft Omega South warehouse in 2014.
