Equipment hire company A-Plant has bought the hoist business of Kier Construction.
A-Plant has purchased the assets and ongoing business of the Kier hoist business, which will be incorporated into its specialist personnel and goods hoist hire and sale division, GB Access. The newly acquired business provides hoist services to Kier as well as a number of third-party customers.
A-Plant has also announced the award of a new five-year trading agreement.
Sat Dhaiwal, chief executive at A-Plant, said: "We are delighted to strengthen our relationship with Kier Group through the acquisition of their hoist business and by extending the longstanding trading relationship we have enjoyed over many years. We look forward to playing a leading role in providing support to all Kier operating divisions as they deliver their strategic growth plans over the next five years."
Claudio Veritiero, group strategy and corporate development director at Kier, said: "The new agreement builds on our existing framework with it now extended to cover telehandlers, lighting, generators, trackway, climate control equipment, hoists, specialist utilities equipment and powered access."
A-Plant is headquartered in Warrington while Kier operates out of Sandy in Bedfordshire.
