Cheshire and Warrington Science Corridor Enterprise Zone Bid

Date added: 07/12/2015

The Cheshire and Warrington Enterprise Partnership (the LEP) have submitted a bid for EZ status to facilitate the growth of Cheshire’s Science Corridor; a crescent that crosses the northern part of the sub-region linking together nationally and internationally significant research facilities. The bid is targeted at the best commercial opportunities in the Science Corridor which includes a number of sites in Ellesmere Port.

If successful the bid will help accelerate development on circa 133ha of land. This includes 58ha of industrial and commercial land in Ellesmere Port. The sites are a combination of public and private ownerships. This will help create new jobs and lever in significant investment. The resultant growth in business rates will be used to support further essential infrastructure across the LEP area.

The overall bid includes land at Alderley Park (Cheshire East), Birchwood (Warrington) and sites within Ellesmere Port (Cheshire West and Chester)
